The Federal Communications Commission has appointed NDIA Executive Director Angela Siefer to serve as a member of its 2016-18 Consumer Advisory Committee (CAC).

The mission of the 29-member CAC is to “make recommendations to the Commission regarding consumer issues within the jurisdiction of the Commission and to facilitate the participation of all consumers in proceedings before the Commission.”  Members serve two-year terms.

Angela’s appointment, announced via this Public Notice, is a clear sign of NDIA’s success in creating a respected presence for community digital inclusion practitioners and advocates at the FCC, and in bringing our perspectives and experience to bear on important Commission policy proceedings like Lifeline Modernization.

Angela’s first meeting as a CAC member is set for January 27.
